Exciting Update: Austin Launches New Office to Elevate Arts, Culture, Music, and Entertainment!

Austin City Manager T.C. Broadnax proudly announced the launch of the new Office of Arts, Culture, Music, and Entertainment (ACME) on Friday.

This office will focus on supporting the city’s creative sector. Its goal is to boost revenue and draw in tourists.

“Austin is known for its vibrant arts and culture scene,” Broadnax explained. “After talking with many people in the creative community, it was clear we needed to combine our resources. This new office will help us serve the arts better and create opportunities that enhance Austin’s reputation as a cultural hub.”

In the past, funding for musicians and cultural centers came from various departments. Now, everything will be consolidated under one office.

Mayor Kirk Watson added, “The arts and entertainment scene is what makes Austin unique. We’re known for our talent, and I’m thankful to the City Manager for recognizing the need for this office. It shows our dedication to the arts.”

To lead this initiative, Broadnax appointed Angela Means, who has over 25 years of experience in management and customer service.
