Evo 2026 is just around the corner, and this year, there are more mainstage titles than ever. The event is nearly set, with players eagerly awaiting the final lineup.
The latest registration leaderboard was recently shared, revealing that some surprises are in store this year. Unsurprisingly, Street Fighter 6 leads the pack, having dominated since its launch in 2023. However, it remains to be seen how its bracket will compare to Evo Japan 2026, which just claimed the title of the largest fighting game tournament in history.
Following Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8 holds the second position, while 2XKO looks strong in third place. The real shake-up, however, comes in the battle for fourth place.
Out of nowhere, Rivals of Aether 2 jumped from ninth to fourth! This indie platform fighter is generating buzz and could see a prize pool of at least $40,000, with the champion taking home $16,000. It’s been a while since a platform fighter graced the Evo main stage—Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was the last in 2019. Fans appear eager for this genre’s return.
The competition is getting fierce, with Guilty Gear Strive dropping to fifth place, followed by Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising in sixth and Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves hanging in at seventh in its second year.

Registration for Evo 2026 closes tonight, May 25, at 11:59 p.m. PT. The event is set for June 26–28 in Las Vegas, Nevada. It will be exciting to see how things unfold in the final days of registration.
