Warner Bros. made some big changes to its film release schedule recently. Another title getting an earlier release is “Weapons,” directed by Zach Cregger. Initially slated for January 2026, it has jumped to August 8, taking the previous spot of Anderson’s film. “Weapons” is a multi-story horror film featuring Josh Brolin and Julia Garner, and the quick schedule change suggests the studio has high hopes for it.
Additionally, there’s an intriguing project called “Flowervale Street,” starring Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor, which will release on August 14, 2026. Directed by David Robert Mitchell, this film is set in the 1980s and tells the story of a family encountering strange events in their neighborhood. Although details are sparse, it has generated some buzz among fans.
Warner Bros. Animation is also part of the update. They plan to release “The Cat in the Hat” two weeks earlier, on February 27, 2024. With voices from Bill Hader and Quinta Brunson, this adaptation will avoid overlap with Pixar’s upcoming film, “Hoppers,” which releases a week later.
