Pikes Peak United Way is making a positive change. Their Mobile Food Pantry is moving to a new spot: Springs Church, near Voyager Parkway and Razorback Road. This shift brings fresh hours, serving food on the third Thursday of each month from 3 PM to 5 PM or until supplies last.
Cami Bremer, the president and CEO of Pikes Peak United Way, expressed gratitude for the support from Mitchell High School and District 11. She emphasized the importance of expanding access to food, stating, “Hunger affects our entire community. This new location helps us serve more residents in need.”
In recent years, food insecurity has risen across the U.S. According to the USDA, nearly 10.5% of American households faced hunger in 2021, up from 10% in 2020. This highlights the ongoing need for services like the Mobile Food Pantry.
The pantry aims to support everyone in need, reinforcing community ties and fighting hunger. As more people become aware of these services, social media trends reflect a growing movement toward community support and local initiatives.
