In an effort to elevate exposure, the BIG EAST has secured new media rights for broadcasting men’s and women’s basketball. The games will be aired on major networks like Fox Sports, NBC, and TNT, with some non-conference matchups also featured. Additionally, select games will be accessible through ESPN’s digital platforms, making it easier for fans to catch the action.
DePaul will showcase six non-conference games on ESPN+ this upcoming season, starting with contests against Chicago State, Stonehill, and Buffalo. The conference’s primary partner, Fox Sports, will feature 10 DePaul games on FS1. Other games will be seen on truTV or streamed via Peacock, including a notable matchup against UConn on January 10.
One highlight of the season will be the Emerald Coast Classic. DePaul opens the tournament against Georgia Tech on November 28 at 6 p.m., broadcast live on CBS Sports Network. Further down the line, the championship game of the Emerald Coast Classic will also air on the same network, providing fans with a chance to see the team battle for glory.
Looking back, the BIG EAST has consistently evolved its broadcasting strategy, much like other sports leagues. This year’s enhancements reflect a growing trend of digital accessibility, resulting in increased fan engagement. Recent statistics indicate that over 50% of sports viewers now rely on streaming services, underscoring the importance of this shift for the DePaul community and beyond.
Fans can keep up with DePaul’s journey this season while enjoying diverse viewing options.
