MUNCIE, Ind. – Ball State Football is celebrating its new century, and fans visiting Scheumann Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 13, will notice some exciting upgrades. The game kicks off at 2 p.m., with tailgating starting at 10 a.m.
This year, the stadium has seen fresh turf and new graphics, making it more visually appealing for fans. There’s also a new ticketing system that accepts digital payments like Apple Pay and Samsung Pay, which simplifies buying tickets.
Inside the stadium, fans will find expanded food options and merchandise. A new Barnes & Noble Spirit Store is located at the northwest corner, just past Gate 1, where you can grab your Cardinals gear. Plus, expect a variety of food trucks serving everything from gourmet donuts to BBQ and ice cream, reducing wait times in long lines. Most food vendors also accept digital payments.
A clear bag policy was introduced to improve security and efficiency for fans. Jeff Mitchell, Ball State’s Director of Athletics, emphasizes that these changes are designed to enhance the fan experience, encouraging more people to attend games. He believes fewer obstacles will make the experience enjoyable for everyone.
For 2025, tailgating hours are consistent, with parking lots opening four hours before kickoff. The stadium gates will open 90 minutes before the game. The Ball State band will entertain fans in the tailgate lots, creating a lively atmosphere as everyone prepares for the game.
Pregame festivities will take place in CharlieTown around the Ball State Alumni Center, where attendees can enjoy activities, prizes, and music. Local radio stations WLBC and WMUN will also host a live show before the game, featuring discussions with special guests.
Tickets for all five home games are available, including premium suite options for small groups.
These changes reflect a trend in college sports. According to a recent survey by the National Association of College Athletic Directors, 68% of fans prioritize the in-stadium experience. Improved amenities and digital convenience are key to attracting more attendees and enhancing their overall enjoyment.
As the Cardinals embark on this new chapter, fans can look forward to a fantastic gameday experience. To stay updated, follow the team on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
