In an exciting development for rail travel in Uttar Pradesh, Indian Railways plans to launch Vande Bharat trains on three new routes from Lucknow. These trains will connect Lucknow with Jammu, Jaipur, and Bhopal, significantly improving daily travel for about 3,200 passengers.

Currently, the Ganga Bridge on the Kanpur route is undergoing repairs for the first time in 29 years. Furthermore, upgrades are happening on the Gorakhpur route. These improvements are essential, as the trains will now reach speeds of up to 130 km/h, a leap from the previous maximum of 80-100 km/h.

Gaurav Agarwal, the Northeast Railway DRM, noted that the Railway Board’s approval is awaited for the Gomtinagar-Bhopal route. This route, along with the others, is expected to be operational within the next three months.

On a related note, the Gorakhpur section of the Northeast Railway is currently undergoing automatic block signaling works. However, this will cause some disruptions. Specific train services on March 29 and 30 will be canceled or rerouted, affecting journeys for many passengers.
