Tonight, during Kojima Productions’ 10th Anniversary livestream, “Beyond the Strand,” fans received an exciting update on the studio’s new project, Physint.
Details about this much-anticipated title remain under wraps, but we learned that actors Don Lee, Charlee Fraser, and Minami Hamabe are on board. Hamabe even participated in an in-engine demonstration, which impressed Hideo Kojima, especially regarding the rendering of her skin.
Herman Hulst, head of Sony Interactive Entertainment, also appeared to reassure viewers that Sony is collaborating closely with Kojima Productions on Physint.
Described as a “stealth action title” reminiscent of Metal Gear Solid, Physint is still in early development. Fans got a glimpse of the game’s key art during the livestream.
Before tonight, the last major update came in August 2025 when Kojima mentioned he was still working on the project independently. Physint was first announced for PlayStation in January 2024 as a “next-generation action espionage game.” It was stated that full production would begin following the release of Death Stranding 2.
In May, Kojima revealed that Physint was finally “in development,” projecting that it would take about five or six more years to complete. This project holds personal significance for him. He sees it as a culmination of his career and aims to merge the worlds of film and video games. The inspiration for Physint surfaced during a challenging time in Kojima’s life, when he faced health issues and contemplated his future. This experience led him to prioritize a project his fans had long desired.
As the gaming world eagerly awaits more updates, it’s clear that Physint promises to be a significant contribution to the genre, combining Kojima’s unique storytelling and innovative design elements.
