KJ Perry, a standout prospect in the 2026 basketball class, recently visited BYU. He shared some of his thoughts about the trip on Instagram, highlighting key moments of his experience.

During his visit, KJ enjoyed watching practice and appreciated the coaching staff’s approach. He feels BYU’s system aligns well with his playing style. “They see me as a defensive asset who can score and involve my teammates,” he said.

KJ spent time with players Xavion and AJ, who made him feel welcome. He plans to make his college commitment in the next month, but he still has some visits to consider.

In addition to BYU, KJ has checked out schools like SMU and USC, with upcoming visits to TCU and Oregon. He holds offers from multiple programs, including Kansas, NC State, and Cincinnati.

Originally part of the 2024 class, KJ was a 3-star recruit out of high school. After a stint at Cal State Northridge, he chose to play at Citrus College. This past year, KJ averaged 17.5 points and 2.8 assists, showing incredible skill by shooting 50% from the field and 35% from three-point range. He often drives to the basket, drawing over four free-throw attempts per game.

A recent scouting report describes KJ as explosive and versatile. He can apply pressure on defenses and can shoot effectively from various distances. His impressive performance in the July live period led to more high major offers coming his way.
