Dana Carvey, a former SNL cast member, mentioned during a chat on his podcast that he watched the anniversary special with Swift and noted her reactions to Reynolds’ jokes.
Carvey shared that Swift had plenty to say about the show, hinting that her absence could indicate some tension. On the podcast, David Spade joked about the situation too. He speculated about Reynolds’ joke and noted that Swift wasn’t part of the festivities this time, suggesting that there might be “minor friction” between her and Lively and Reynolds.
Swift has maintained a long friendship with both Lively and Reynolds, dating back to 2014. Their bond has endured ups and downs, with Lively and Reynolds supporting her during tough times, such as the fallout from her feud with Kanye West. In fact, Swift even became the godmother to their four children, further cementing their connection.
However, recent events have added complexity to their friendship. Following allegations that Lively may have used her connections to gain advantage in the industry, rumors surfaced that Swift feels “used.” It seems their relationship has faced challenges, echoing speculations of a rift, especially after news broke about a legal dispute involving Lively and Justin Baldoni, her co-star in the film It Ends With Us.
Despite these rumors, Swift has publicly supported Lively’s work and even allowed the use of her song in Lively’s film. However, since the legal issues came to light, Swift and Lively have not been seen together, stirring up more speculation about the state of their friendship.
