Exclusive: Leaked Screenshots Reveal Cancelled God of War PS5 Game Details!

Bluepoint Games, known for its exceptional remakes like Shadow of the Colossus, had been working on a live-service God of War game for the PS5. However, this project was scrapped along with another title from Bend Studio, the team behind Days Gone. Recently, some images from this cancelled game surfaced online.

According to a report by MP1ST, these screenshots show that the game would have taken players back to the franchise’s Greek roots. Players could explore expansive environments filled with unique assets, like decorative pots. One location, named Hades’ Armory, would undergo visual changes based on its “cursed” state, hinting at dynamic gameplay.

Initially revealed in a Bloomberg report, the cancellation of these games was linked to a recent review by Sony. They’ve since stated they will work closely with both studios to set future projects. Recently, Bluepoint has started hiring for roles focused on “third-person melee action” games, indicating their ongoing commitment to high-quality gaming experiences.

Exciting speculations are also floating around about returning to the Greek setting. Some believe a 2.5D God of War game could be on the horizon, originally expected this year but likely postponed until 2026.

While fans were disappointed by the cancellation, it’s clear there’s still a lot to look forward to in the God of War universe.
