Tom Brady has been juggling his roles as a top analyst for Fox and a minority owner of the Raiders. Recently, he may have taken a step back from that balance.
According to reports from Jordan Schultz at Fox, Brady welcomed Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford to his home in Montana. They spent some time together and even went skiing.
Brady is reportedly trying to persuade Stafford to join the Raiders, and conversations are still happening. However, NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport clarified that their meeting was unplanned and brief. He noted that there wasn’t any organized recruitment happening during their encounter.
Schultz later emphasized that the timing of their meeting at a ski resort seemed too coincidental. He expressed skepticism about the idea that it was just a random encounter.
Meanwhile, the Rams have allowed Stafford’s agent to speak with other teams, but there’s no clear permission for Stafford to meet with team executives or coaches. Without this permission, any informal meeting would be considered tampering. This could explain the backtracking on the reports.
We’ve reached out to the Rams to confirm the details of what permission Stafford has received. If he hasn’t been cleared to meet with other teams, then any interactions could lead to issues with the league.
Additionally, any Fox reporter pushing this narrative might find themselves in a difficult spot with Brady.
