Nancy, who is 84 years old, has been missing since February 1. Authorities believe she was abducted from her home in Tucson, Arizona. The police have shared doorbell camera footage showing a masked individual, but no suspects have been publicly identified.
That same day, a special aired on The CW titled NewsNation Presents: The Nancy Guthrie Mystery. It featured interviews with experts discussing the investigation into her disappearance. Reporter Brian Entin spoke to a panel of law enforcement professionals for insights.
Dr. Casey Jordan, a behavior analyst and attorney, characterized the prime suspect as a “prowler burglar” who likely knows the local area. She mentioned, “He probably isn’t around anymore and may have fled the country.” This highlights an alarming trend; abductions often involve suspects who take drastic actions shortly after the crime.
Criminal profiler Dr. Ann Burgess suggested looking for individuals who are unemployed and engaging in odd jobs, as they may not have a stable lifestyle. Meanwhile, clinical psychologist Dr. Gary Brucato described the suspect’s character as one that has developed through a history of cruel and manipulative behavior. He pointed out that illicit drug use could also be a factor in this case.
