Opened last spring at 324 Harmony Meadows Court, Desi Vilas has attracted many loyal customers with its delicious and affordable Indian food. The restaurant is run by three passionate owners: Prashanthi Chirunomula, Neeharika Molabanti, and another who prefers to remain anonymous.

Desi Vilas offers classic Indian dishes like biriyani, chicken curry, vegetable curry, naan, and dosas. The goal was to create a space where people could enjoy authentic cuisine at fair prices.

Unlike typical sit-down restaurants, Desi Vilas operates like a takeout spot. You place your order, pick up your food, and can enjoy it at an additional seating area two doors down.

What sets them apart? Their Mysore bondas. These are like spicier, rounder samosas. Each bonda is crunchy on the outside and filled with a zesty potato mixture. Paired with tomato and coconut chutneys, it’s a must-try snack. Fans come from as far as Maryland Heights just for this treat. The restaurant also serves regional dishes like punagulu, savory lentil doughnut holes.

If you’re unsure what to try, the lunch combos are a fantastic option. They include an appetizer, chicken curry, flavored rice, and naan. Vegetarian options are available too.

Desi Vilas features daily specials that create buzz in the community. Many patrons fondly call it the “mess hall.” On Tuesdays, you can enjoy chaat, a popular Indian street food. Pani puri, a crispy shell stuffed with a spicy potato and chickpea mixture, is especially popular.

Wednesdays spotlight biriyani, a fragrant rice dish. For those who love heat, the “pachi mirchi” biriyani is a spicy favorite with fresh green chili paste. Desi Vilas will celebrate its one-year anniversary on April 24 with special snacks, meals, and deals. It’s a great chance to experience their offerings!
