Experience Cutting-Edge Aviation Training: Trener Flight Academy and University of Nyíregyháza Unveil New ALSIM AL250 Simulator

Hungary’s Trener Flight Academy has introduced a new Alsim AL250 flight simulator at the University of Nyíregyháza. This partnership enhances both pilot training and aerospace engineering education, highlighting the university’s rising status in European aviation.

The ALSIM AL250 was officially launched in July 2025 and is now fully operational at the university’s training center. This simulator plays a crucial role in the expanding Pilot Training Program, which saw its 57th class begin in September 2024.

What makes the AL250 special? It can be configured as a Single Engine Piston (SEP) or Multi-Engine Piston (MEP) FNPT II device. This certification allows it to support key training stages, including Private Pilot License (PPL), Commercial Pilot License (CPL), and Instrument Ratings (IR/ME). Pilots can practice using both traditional and modern glass cockpit interfaces.

Globally, more than 100 AL250s are in use. This widespread adoption speaks to its value for training aligned with European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) standards. Moreover, the simulator comes with the ALSIM Engineering Pack, an innovative tool that allows engineering students to design and test aircraft models using MATLAB® and Simulink®. This combination of aviation and engineering fosters valuable interdisciplinary skills.

This investment is a testament to the decades-long partnership between Trener Flight Academy and the University of Nyíregyháza, which has been shaping future pilots for over 30 years.

For reference, ALSIM, the simulator’s manufacturer, is based in France and boasts over 450 devices in more than 60 countries. Notably, the company emphasizes technological advancement and collaboration with training institutions worldwide.

Overall, the introduction of the AL250 simulator marks a significant step in aviation education, offering students cutting-edge tools to prepare for their careers.
