Founded in 2002 by Ricardo Biella, Olivera’s started as a small eatery in downtown Ionia. Now, it has expanded into two bustling locations—one in Ionia and another in Portland, both managed by Ricardo’s son, Luciano.

The Biella family has deep roots in the restaurant business. They immigrated from Sicily in the 1990s. Luciano’s grandfather opened a small pizzeria, where Ricardo learned the ropes. Over the years, they transformed a small restaurant into the successful chain it is today.
Luciano points out that while both locations share a similar menu, the Portland spot has a more intimate vibe and offers a private dining room for gatherings. The menu features standout items like hand-cut steaks, fresh seafood, and home-made pastas and sauces. “Making everything from scratch is our pride,” says Luciano.
Currently, Olivera’s is revamping its menu. “The new menu will launch in early 2026, featuring dishes we’ve never offered before,” Luciano shares, hinting at exciting changes ahead.
