The Indian Railways just announced a new Vande Bharat Special train between New Delhi and Patna, timed perfectly for the festive season. This train is designed to handle the increased passenger traffic that comes with celebrations like Durga Puja, Diwali, and Chhath Puja.
Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay, the Chief Public Relations Officer of Northern Railway, emphasized the importance of this service. He noted that these trains will ensure comfortable and speedy travel for passengers during this busy time.
The new Vande Bharat train, numbered 02254/02253, will kick off operations from Patna Junction on October 11, with the first trip from New Delhi set for October 12. Travelers can use this service until November 17. It will cover about 1,000 kilometers in just 13 hours, making the journey smoother and faster.
The introduction of this train not only connects Bihar’s capital with the national capital more efficiently, but it also aims to ease congestion during the holidays. This aligns with recent data showing a rise in rail travel during festival seasons; for example, a survey revealed that rail traffic can increase by up to 40% during this period.
Vande Bharat trains stand out for their modern amenities and speed, upgrading the rail travel experience in India. According to transportation expert Dr. Anil Kumar, these trains allow the Railways to meet the growing demand for effective public transport. He suggests that as India’s population continues to rise, such innovations are essential.
With this added service, Indian Railways is likely to see a busy season ahead, and travelers can look forward to a better journey during one of the busiest times of the year.
