The Railway Ministry and the Confederation of Indian Industry recently shared exciting details about the upcoming International Railway Equipment Exhibition (IREE) 2025, which will take place from October 15 to 17 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. This event is the largest of its kind in Asia.
A panel of experts discussed the key themes for IREE 2025, emphasizing the importance of youth in sustainable railway practices and the need for global collaboration. They also mentioned efforts to simplify business processes for both international and domestic attendees.
Dilip Kumar from Indian Railways expressed confidence in India’s progress towards becoming a developed nation by 2047. He highlighted that exhibitions like IREE are crucial for showcasing India’s manufacturing and technological strengths. Innovations such as the Vande Bharat train and India’s manufacturing capabilities are set to take center stage, reinforcing the country’s position in the global railway industry.
Sitaram Sinku, another Indian Railway official, spoke about the modernization efforts underway, including the electrification of railway systems and the adoption of green technologies. He noted that IREE 2025 will demonstrate how railways can contribute to economic growth while aiming for a Net Zero Carbon footprint by 2030.
B. Thiagarajan, from the CII Trade Fairs Council, described the event as a pivotal moment for Indian Railways, aiming to set a global standard for innovation and sustainability in transportation.
Moreover, Puneet Kaura from Samtel Avionics highlighted the collaborative spirit of the exhibition. He believes that the interaction between the industry and the government will accelerate modernization in the railway sector, creating excitement and new opportunities for businesses.
Recent statistics show that the Indian railway sector has made significant strides in electrification, with about 85% of routes now electrified. This transition serves not only the environment but also enhances operational efficiency.
