Optoma claims the top spot as the world’s leading brand in 4K UHD and DLP projectors, and they’ve just introduced an impressive new model: the UHZ68LV. This laser projector boasts 5,000 lumens, making it perfect for daytime viewing. It can project images as large as 300 inches, ensuring a big-screen experience.
One of the standout features of the UHZ68LV is its dual-laser light source, which delivers vibrant colors and clear details, even in bright environments. Whether you’re enjoying a movie marathon or catching a live sports event, the projector promises high brightness and great image quality.
The projector covers 100% of the Rec.709 color space and 90% of the DCI-P3 range, providing cinema-quality colors. It supports 4K UHD resolution (3,840 x 2,160) at impressive sizes. To get the largest image, you’ll need to place the projector about 42 feet away from the screen.
For smooth visuals, the UHZ68LV supports refresh rates between 24 Hz and 120 Hz for 4K, and it can go up to 240 Hz in 1080p. Its low input lag of 8.5 milliseconds ensures that fast-paced action scenes look sharp. The projector also has PureEngine Ultra processing, which enhances color output and contrast, bringing extra detail to every frame.
To help maintain a filmmaker’s vision, a special mode keeps the original aesthetics intact. The UHZ68LV offers dynamic contrast ratios up to 3.2 million:1 and supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision for richer colors and deeper contrasts. It features keystone correction and a 1.6x zoom to adjust the image without having to move the projector itself. A portrait mode is also included, making it suitable for unique viewing experiences, like sharing videos on TikTok.
This model isn’t smart on its own, so you’ll need to connect it to a media source via HDMI. It includes HDMI 2.1 and 2.0 ports, plus Ethernet for network connectivity. Built-in speakers provide decent sound at 5 watts each and support Dolby Atmos passthrough, but you can also connect to an external sound system using optical outputs or eARC.
The UHZ68LV will soon launch in Europe and will be featured at ISE 2025 in Barcelona, showcasing its versatility for both business and home cinema settings. Although pricing for the U.S. hasn’t been announced, it will retail for £3,999 in the UK.
