Experience the Epic Journey: Nintendo Unveils Limited-Edition The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Soundtrack Box Set!

Nintendo is excited to reveal a special box set celebrating the soundtrack of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. This marks a significant moment as it’s the first time Nintendo has released a physical soundtrack for sale in the U.S. The box set includes eight vinyl records and will be available on June 19.

The 8xLP collection features a stunning blue and gold splatter design and archival artwork for each sleeve. Fans will get to enjoy all 130 specially mastered tracks composed by Manaka Kataoka, Yasuaki Iwata, Hajime Wakai, and Soshi Abe. Previously, Nintendo only offered its soundtracks on vinyl in Japan, making this release a rare treat for fans in the West.

For those who prefer a simpler option, there’s also a 2xLP version of the soundtrack. Nintendo offers a way to stream these soundtracks through the Nintendo Music app, available for Nintendo Switch Online members.

In recent years, video game music has gained popularity, influencing artists and music events worldwide. Several orchestras have been staging concerts dedicated to game soundtracks, which showcases a growing recognition of this art form. In fact, a survey found that over 70% of gamers enjoy listening to game soundtracks outside of gameplay. This trend highlights a shift in how we appreciate video game music, turning it into a celebrated genre in its own right.

This new box set appeals not only to die-hard Zelda fans but also to vinyl collectors. It’s a growing trend; according to a recent report by the Recording Industry Association of America, vinyl sales have reached their highest level since the 1980s, emphasizing a resurgence in analog music enjoyment.

The full tracklist shows a rich tapestry of sounds, highlighting the emotional depth of the game. From the iconic Main Theme to the intricate compositions that accompany battles and serene moments, each track tells a story.
