The Festival of the Vine is not just about wine. This annual event, hosted by the Geneva Chamber of Commerce, features a variety of drinks, including beer, hard cider, and seltzer. From the crisp Ziata Sauvignon Blanc to the bold Seaglass Pinot Noir, there’s something for every palate.
Running from September 5 to 7, the festival takes place along James Street in downtown Geneva. You’ll find delicious options to sip and savor from noon to 10 PM on Friday and Saturday, and noon to 4:30 PM on Sunday.
Penrose Brewing Company, a local favorite, will showcase its German-style Helles lager called Penrose Light, along with unique Lemon and Apple Cider Seltz-Ups. If you’re into IPAs, check out Goofy Boots and Looper, both from Round after Round.
Wine lovers can also indulge in varieties like Iron & Sand Cabernet Sauvignon and Neyers Chardonnay. For just $2 each, you can buy drink tickets in increments of $20 at the booth. Food tickets are also $2, with items costing between one and five tickets.
Expect to enjoy mouth-watering dishes from local eateries. Altiro Latin Fusion’s fish tacos, Chianti’s crab pasta, and Chicken Salad Chick’s gourmet offerings are just a taste of what’s available.
If you want to catch some entertainment, a full schedule is available on the Geneva Chamber website.
Don’t forget the craft show happening on South Third and Campbell streets from 10 AM to 5 PM on the weekend. Just a heads-up: try to leave large bags at home; the festival restricts them to items no bigger than 12x12x6 inches.
This year’s festival is proudly sponsored by the City of Geneva and Penrose Brewing, making it a true community event. Are you excited to join in? You’ll find good drinks, great food, and a lively atmosphere!
