Experience the Excitement: Turner Sports Goes All-In for the 2025 NBA All-Star Game Weekend, Celebrating 25 Years of Unforgettable Moments!

Exciting Production Plans for the NBA All-Star Game

This year’s NBA All-Star Game at the Chase Center in San Francisco carries special significance for Chris Brown, VP of Technical Operations at WBD, and the entire Turner Sports team. It’s the last All-Star weekend for Turner, who has produced the event since 2003. They’re committed to making this an unforgettable farewell by ensuring top-notch production for all festivities, including the Rising Stars events and All-Star Saturday Night.

Doug Haskin (left) and Chris Brown have collaborated on the NBA All-Star Game Weekend since 2011.

Brown shares, “It’s vital to treat the All-Star Game as a premier event for the NBA, our partners. We’re bringing our tried-and-true production methods while also expanding what we offer.” This dedication is reflected in the sophisticated setup along 16th Street, right next to the Chase Center. The production includes multiple NEP Supershooter units for video, audio, graphics, storage, and more, ensuring seamless coverage throughout the weekend.

Nearly 35 cameras will capture every moment at the Chase Center, including 13 super slow-motion cameras. Special Nucleus cameras will be positioned near the hoops, promising incredible views for events like the slam dunk contest.

This year, the All-Star Game introduces a new format featuring four teams that will compete in three games. There’s no game clock or quarters, and the first team to score 40 points wins. The top two teams will face off in the final match, creating a fresh competitive atmosphere.

Brown says the production team collaborated closely with the NBA to craft this exciting format, hoping it will enhance the event’s energy.

All-Star Saturday Night aims to generate buzz as well. Though the innovative LED video court from last year’s event in Indianapolis isn’t returning, several exciting features will. The Enlouva Crane, making its comeback after two years, and the Mindfly bodycam will provide unique player perspectives during practice and gameplay.

“Bringing back the Mindfly camera thrills us because it adds a fresh angle,” Brown notes. The weekend will also feature a wireless super-slo-mo Steadicam for the slam dunk contest, promising thrilling visuals.

Turning to technology, the NBA is introducing a Jita Agito remote-controlled car equipped with high-quality cameras for unique coverage during player introductions and skill events. Brown explains, “This car can move freely, unlike rail cameras that have limited movement. It adds an exciting new dimension to our coverage.”

Additional tech enhancements include robotic cameras positioned above the rims, along with multiple robotic setups to capture behind-the-scenes and game-action shots. For audio, a new player mic transmitter from Q5X will provide a live sound experience throughout the weekend.

The NBA on TNT studio show for NBA All-Star Game Weekend is set up in front of the Chase Center.

For Turner Sports’ studio operations, they are maintaining a familiar setup from previous years, allowing for efficient production without needing to start over. The All-Star Game weekend is a major production feat, often described as an exhilarating combination of multiple basketball games and live events.

Brown’s journey in All-Star productions began in 2009, and he appreciates the evolving scale and sophistication of the event. “Every time a new broadcaster visits, they’re amazed by the scale of our operations,” he says. “We create a spectacle that blends basketball games, a great halftime show, and exciting introductions into one fantastic event.”

The dedicated team from Turner Sports is prepared for another memorable NBA All-Star Game Weekend.
