Experience the Magic: DPIFF 2025 – Celebrating a Decade of Indian Cinema in Mumbai!

Mumbai is buzzing with excitement as the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards (DPIFF) return on October 29 and 30, 2025. This marks a decade of honoring the richness of Indian cinema and its growing global influence.

Named after Dadasaheb Phalke, the pioneer of Indian cinema, the festival celebrates storytelling that bridges cultures and connects audiences worldwide. It’s a platform for both legendary filmmakers and emerging voices, showcasing the best of India’s cinematic heritage.

The leadership team behind DPIFF is impressive. CEO Abhishek Mishra has significant experience in various government sectors, including consumer affairs. Managing Director Anil Mishra brings over 40 years of expertise in both entertainment and parliamentary fields. Jury President Chandrashekhar Pusalkar, grandson of Dadasaheb Phalke, carries forward his legacy. Their combined vision ensures DPIFF remains a significant cultural celebration.

Last year’s edition was star-studded, with icons like Shah Rukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor attending, reinforcing DPIFF’s reputation as a cultural powerhouse. This year’s 10th edition promises even more, with engaging performances and tributes to India’s diverse film heritage, uniting well-known and rising talents.

DPIFF also nurtures upcoming filmmakers through its Global Short Film Festival, highlighting 15 top short films each year. The winner receives a trophy and a cash prize of ₹1,00,000, showcasing the festival’s dedication to fostering new talent.

Beyond the spotlight, DPIFF is committed to sustainability. Through its foundation, We For World, it supports social and environmental initiatives, like promoting local tourism and sustainable development. Collaborating with the Ministry of Tourism, DPIFF has showcased the cultural heritage of various Indian states, celebrating India’s diversity on a grand scale.

Abhishek Mishra emphasized the significance of this milestone: “As we step into our 10th year, DPIFF will celebrate the universal magic of cinema more than ever. We’re bringing together legends, new creators, and audiences to honor the stories that inspire us all.”

The DPIFF 2025, themed “A World Stage: The Global Legacy of Indian Cinema,” will recognize the impact of Indian cinema on a worldwide scale. Awards will span the Indian Film Industry, Indian Television, and the international film community. The celebrations will feature folk dance, music, and Indian cuisine, reflecting the multicultural essence of India on a global stage.
