Get ready for a delightful evening of music and art! Cleary University is hosting a free concert, “A String Awakening,” on April 10th. This event features the talented Aaron Berofsky Ensemble from the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra.
The fun kicks off with a Secunda Social Hour at 6 PM. This is a family-friendly chance to explore the work of artist Arthur Secunda, whose biggest collection is on Cleary’s campus. You can dive into art while enjoying light snacks before the music begins.
At 6:30 PM, introductions will set the stage for the concert, which starts at 7 PM. The Aaron Berofsky Ensemble, led by concertmaster Aaron Berofsky, includes musicians Alaina Bercilla, Timothy Michling, Kathryn Votapek, and Megan Yip. They’ll perform beautiful pieces by Mozart, including selections from the Duo for Violin and Viola and several other quartets.
For those interested in a refreshment, beer and wine will be available for purchase, while donations are welcome to help continue this concert series. With plenty of free parking and accessible seating, it’s easy for everyone to attend. Cleary Commons is the first building on the right when you enter the university from Grand River Avenue in Howell.
This concert is part of the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra’s Public Chamber Series, which aims to bring classical and modern music to local communities. Events like this foster cultural connections and enrich our community. So, come enjoy a night of art and music right in your neighborhood.
