Immaculata University’s Cue & Curtain Theatre is gearing up for its annual fall production, “Curtains!” This comedy, set in the 1930s, is penned by David Sodaro and will light up the historic Alumnae Hall Theater from November 14 to 16.
The show kicks off on Friday, November 14, with performances at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday features another 7 p.m. show, wrapping up with a matinee at 3 p.m. on Sunday.
“Curtains!” places us in the Great Depression era, where Charlie, a new husband, inherits a rundown theater. He dreams of demolishing it for insurance money. But, to make his plan work, he must first put on a production. This leads him into a quirky, chaotic play inspired by a mix of ideas from his cousin-in-law. Patrick Walton, a cybersecurity major, plays Charlie, while criminology major Mackenzie Fillion brings his confused bride, Cheri, to life.
