The latest Broadway arrivals for spring 2026 have made quite a splash, showcasing both hits and misses among the new productions. The Rocky Horror Show, starring Luke Evans, topped the charts with impressive attendance, filling nearly all seats at Studio 54 and grossing over $813,000. Clearly, Roundabout Theatre’s gamble on this revival paid off.
Another notable entry, The Balusters, debuted at the Manhattan Theatre Club and successfully filled 90% of its seats, generating close to $269,000. This play has even been extended for two more weeks, indicating its popularity.
Then there’s The Lost Boys, which also performed well, earning around $897,000 despite a slight drop from the previous week. Interestingly, overall attendance increased, suggesting that audience interest remains strong despite the comped performances that may have affected the gross.
On the other end of the spectrum, Beaches struggled, achieving only 65% capacity and bringing in just under $477,000. The reviews have been harsh, leaving its future uncertain—though next week’s Tony nominations could change that.
Schmigadoon! opened to decent numbers as well, with attendance around 85% and a gross of $622,000. Similarly, Joe Turner’s Come and Gone received positive reviews but saw a decrease in gross due to fewer performances.
In general, last week didn’t disappoint for the Broadway landscape. Cats: The Jellicle Ball had its best week, grossing over $1 million, while Moulin Rouge! continued to shine, bringing in nearly $1.64 million. Star Megan Thee Stallion’s involvement has clearly elevated its box office appeal, making her early departure all the more disappointing for fans.
Reflecting on the overall industry, Broadway grossed approximately $40.4 million last week. While this marks a 3% increase from the week before, it’s down by 21% compared to last year. Ticket prices also saw a dip, with the average admission now at $120.47—$21 less than the same time last year.
Interestingly, total attendance was about 335,000. This shows a slight uptick from the prior week, yet remains lower than last year’s figures. Throughout the entire season—now in its 48th week—Broadway has grossed nearly $1.75 billion, a 5% increase year-over-year.
