Kadai Yaseen Ahamed, a trailblazer in Indian motorcycle racing, is optimistic about the Indian Superbike League (ISBL). It’s a new platform that could elevate the sport in India. Having participated in the 2023 MotoGP Bharat, Ahamed believes the ISBL will shine a spotlight on talented riders across the country, including women.

He highlights that women like Aishwariya Pissay have already made strides in both road and off-road racing. With initiatives like the ISBL, Ahamed hopes for even more female riders to gain recognition and opportunities. "The league will create a fresh pipeline for our talent, attracting young enthusiasts into Indian motorsports," he emphasizes.
At just 28, Ahamed is already a champion, holding the 2021 title in the Pro-Stock 301 to 400cc class. He believes that to nurture young talent, it’s crucial to introduce them to the professional world of racing early. "When kids are still curious and fearless, that’s when we should be guiding them," he states.
Reflecting on his own journey, Ahamed recalls having limited opportunities as a child. "Back then, getting into competitive racing was tough. Now, there are dedicated classes for young boys and girls, which is fantastic," he adds. His own passion was fueled by Jagan Kumar, a ten-time Indian National Motorcycle Racing champion. Jagan’s mentorship played a significant role in shaping Ahamed’s career, demonstrating the importance of guidance in sports.
Ahamed also notes that the overall racing landscape in India is improving. Recent statistics show a growing interest in motorsports among youth, driven by social media and events like the ISBL. A survey by Mordor Intelligence noted that the motorsport segment in India is expected to grow significantly over the next few years.
In this evolving scene, Ahamed stands out as a beacon of inspiration for both current and future riders. His story highlights the ongoing transformation in Indian motorsport, illustrating how the ISBL might just be a game-changer in bringing fresh talent to the forefront.
