Experience the Ultimate Otaku Food & Anime Festival: A Feast of Flavor, Art, and Entertainment in College Station!

BRYAN, Texas – The ‘Otaku Food and Anime Festival’ brings together anime lovers and food enthusiasts for a vibrant Lunar New Year celebration. This festival happens twice a year and is free to attend, making it a family-friendly event.

Typically, the festival takes place at the Post Oak Mall. Vincent Tran, the organizer, highlighted how this partnership benefits both the mall and the event. He noted that the festival attracts more visitors, which helps shops in the mall gain extra foot traffic. “We aim to bring people back to the mall,” Tran said. “Each event nearly doubles or triples the traffic for the tenants compared to a normal weekend.”

Attendees can enjoy delicious food and meet exciting personalities. Voice actor Blake Shepard, known for his roles in various anime shows, loves attending local events. Living in Houston, he appreciates the chance to connect with fellow Texans without having to travel far. “It’s an easy way for me to engage with the community and avoid frequent flights to conventions,” he explained.

The festival’s success relies on the dedicated efforts of everyone involved. Franklin Lim, one of the team members, shared how gratifying it is to see the event come to life. “I handle a lot of the behind-the-scenes work. Watching everything come together with the attendees and vendors makes all the hard work worth it,” he said.

This year, the festival will run on Saturday, February 15th, from noon to 8 p.m. and Sunday, February 16th, from noon to 5:30 p.m. There will be another Otaku event at the mall later in the fall, promising even more fun for fans.
