IRVINE, Calif. – Last weekend, the Concordia University Irvine women’s swim and dive team showcased their talent at the PCSC Triple Distance Invitational. This was their third meet in January, and the Golden Eagles are steadily improving against tough regional rivals, including Azusa Pacific, Biola, The Master’s, and Soka University.
Standout Performances
Alex Leland had a remarkable day, winning the 50-yard breaststroke in 32.30 seconds. She narrowly beat several Biola swimmers, including runner-up Malia Ciolli. Leland also competed well in the 100-yard breaststroke, finishing fifth, showing her growing competitiveness in the pool.
Carissa Ward led the team with impressive finishes in three events. She secured third place in the 50, 100, and 200-yard backstroke races. Notably, she clocked a personal best of 28.47 seconds in the 50-yard back, which was nearly half a second faster than her previous best.
Aubrie Carver also made her mark, finishing eighth in both the 50 and 100-yard back with times of 29.84 seconds and 1:05.78 respectively. Meanwhile, Hannah Edwards claimed fourth in the 50 Freestyle, consistently proving she’s a swift competitor.
In total, the Golden Eagles scored 45 points, reflecting their growth during the 2025-26 season.
