During a recent TV talk show, themed "Building a Resilient Future," specialists shared their views. Mr. Julius Mbidomti from the North East Multi-sectoral Crisis Recovery Project stressed that the stakes are high. He warned that failure to act could lead to severe consequences in just 10 to 15 years. "It’s not just about the government; everyone has a role in protecting our planet," he said.

Mr. Yohana Moses, a key adviser to the Governor of Adamawa, echoed this sentiment. He noted that last year, extreme heat led to numerous fatalities in Adamawa. This year has already seen signs of intense sandstorms. "We need to be proactive about tackling climate change," he urged.

The Adamawa State government is working on a new climate change policy, though it may take until 2027 to finalize. This policy is being developed by the Adamawa Climate Sector Working Group, formed to gather essential research.

The talk show was co-hosted by broadcaster Samamo-Clarkson Dedan and Kauna Hamman, the managing director of the Brook Initiative. Hamman aimed to raise awareness of climate challenges through this event.
