Anthropic has rolled out an exciting update for its AI chatbot, Claude. Now, during chats, Claude can create custom charts, diagrams, and other visuals to enhance conversations. If it sees a visual could help, it shows it right in the chat.
For example, if you’re discussing the periodic table, Claude might generate an interactive version, letting you click on elements to learn more. It might also create visuals to explain concepts like how weight is distributed in a building.
You can ask Claude for these visuals directly. Anthropic mentions this new feature aims to improve user engagement. But Claude isn’t alone in this; OpenAI’s ChatGPT recently added similar features for math and science concepts. Meanwhile, Google’s Gemini can also create interactive educational images.
Previously, Claude offered an “artifacts” feature, allowing users to create charts and documents in a side panel. The crucial difference now is that visuals generated in chat will change throughout your conversation, while artifacts are saved for later use.
This feature is being rolled out to all users and will be on by default.
