Climate & Canvas is an exciting event that wraps up the environmental arts program at Froebel Elementary School. Over the past few weeks, students have dived into climate issues, thought deeply about their connection with nature, and turned their ideas into unique sculptures. This program blends environmental education with art, helping kids realize how they can contribute to a sustainable future.
On April 26th, we’ll hold a free public showcase at the Contemporary Art Museum in St. Louis. Everyone—families, friends, and community members—is welcome to come and see the students’ artwork. It’s a chance to witness how these young artists express important environmental themes through their creations.
This event is made possible by wonderful partnerships and sponsorships that support Climate & Canvas and future projects. With your support, we can provide more opportunities for students to engage with climate education through creativity.
Interestingly, recent surveys show that 77% of parents want their children to learn about climate change in school. Programs like this can ignite a passion for environmental preservation at a young age.
Art isn’t just for pleasure; it can push for change. Engaging children in environmental discussions through creative outlets fosters a mindset aimed at shaping a healthy planet. Pioneering artists like Olafur Eliasson and Ai Weiwei inspire many with their environmentally themed works. They remind us that art and activism can work hand in hand.
Join us to see the fresh perspectives our students bring to pressing climate issues through their imaginative sculptures.
