Nine new Amrit Bharat Express trains are set to launch soon, connecting West Bengal and Assam to various states across India. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw shared this exciting news on social media, detailing the routes these trains will cover.
The new services will link Guwahati to Rohtak, Dibrugarh to Lucknow, and several other destinations. If you’re traveling to Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, or Maharashtra, these trains are designed to make your journey smoother and more affordable.
These trains are part of a broader initiative by Indian Railways to enhance long-distance connectivity at reasonable prices. The Amrit Bharat Express aims to offer travelers non-AC sleeper-class travel for around ₹500 per thousand kilometers. This affordable fare is especially important for many passengers who seek value in their travel choices.
Since launching in December 2023, 30 Amrit Bharat Express trains have already been operational, with nine more added soon. Officials believe this expansion will significantly benefit passengers in remote regions, allowing them to connect with major cities and opportunities.
In addition to affordability, these new trains come equipped with modern amenities. Passengers can expect features like foldable snack tables, mobile holders, and comfortable seating. Safety also takes a priority, with facilities designed for passengers with disabilities, along with advanced fire suppression systems.
As these new trains prepare to roll out, experts from the transportation sector emphasize the significance of improved connectivity in boosting local economies. According to a recent report from the Indian Railway Ministry, expanding train services can stimulate trade and tourism in previously isolated areas.
In social media discussions, many users have praised this initiative as a game changer, noting that improved links could lead to increased job opportunities and community growth.
By enhancing accessibility and comfort, the Amrit Bharat Express trains are set to transform train travel in India, marking a pivotal moment in the country’s transport history.
