UNMC recently hosted Katie Hoffman, the corporation secretary for the University of Nebraska System, along with her deputy, Vanessa Zimmer. They visited to meet with UNMC’s leadership and tour its latest facilities.

During their visit on May 13, Hoffman and Zimmer had discussions with Interim Chancellor H. Dele Davies, MD, and Vice Chancellors Ken Bayles, PhD, and Jane Meza, PhD.

Their tour included the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center and the iEXCEL health care simulation program at the Davis Global Center. At iEXCEL, they met with Pamela Boyers, PhD, and Jenni Bouckhuyt, who showcased the program’s innovative features.

One standout was the 3D holographic theater and the new Emerging Technology Lab, equipped with advanced holographic capabilities. This tech uses a Proto holobox to create immersive learning experiences.
