Finger Lakes Community Health is looking into the possibility of bringing Mosaic Health, based in Rochester, into its network. This move aims to enhance their combined resources and broaden their service area.
By working together, both organizations can maintain and improve their medical, dental, behavioral health, and care management services. Mary Zelazny, CEO of Finger Lakes Community Health, emphasized that this partnership would allow them to better serve diverse communities and improve health outcomes. She believes it would also give them a stronger voice in advocating for community health as they adapt to changing patient needs.
Currently, Mosaic Health and Finger Lakes Community Health cater to nearly 43,000 patients in Upstate New York. They are both classified as Community Health Centers, contributing to a nationwide effort that supports over 32.5 million people across the United States.
Michael Leary, CEO and president of Mosaic Health, highlighted the significance of expanding healthcare services to more communities. He believes that merging with Finger Lakes Community Health will boost their strength and ability to provide care, while ensuring that patients see no major changes in their experiences, aside from increased service availability.
If the due diligence, regulatory approvals, and board of directors’ consent are secured, the merger could take place by the end of 2025. The leaders have indicated that the final name of the merged organization will be decided at a later date.
