“Is anyone unhappy with Elon? If you are, we’ll toss him out!” Trump said jokingly.
No one voiced any objections. The atmosphere lightened as Howard Lutnick, the secretary of commerce, began a slow clap, joined reluctantly by Tulsi Gabbard, director of national intelligence. Kelly Loeffler, the small business administrator, joined in as well, while Secretary of State Marco Rubio clapped once, wearing a stiff smile. Meanwhile, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the health secretary, shifted in discomfort.
This meeting highlighted the complex dynamics within the cabinet. While everyone was outwardly supportive, it was clear that some felt uneasy about Musk’s approach. The day underscored the balancing act of leadership, mixing authority with the need to maintain harmony among powerful individuals.
