The Saints held a brief two-day minicamp recently. While it was short, there are a few noteworthy takeaways.

The competition for the quarterback spot between Tyler Shough and Spencer Rattler is heating up. Both are showing promise, but it’s hard to pick a favorite right now. If this competition stays close, the team might choose to start the rookie.

Adding to the excitement, the Saints signed Cam Akers, making the running back room quite crowded. Alvin Kamara leads the pack, but Kendre Miller, Clyde Edwards-Helaire, and others are vying for backup roles. Miller will need to stay healthy; otherwise, he might find himself on the outside looking in.

Chris Olave, a talented receiver, is up for a contract extension. The Saints may want to see how he performs this season, especially after some concussion concerns last year. If he bounces back and racks up impressive stats, his future looks bright.
