Exploring Youth Mental Health: Key Insights from the Carson City Rotary Meeting

By Denise Clodjeaux — The Rotary Club of Carson City is set to discuss an important topic: the mental health of local youth. At their next meeting, Kitty McKay, the Vice President of Community and Patient Experience at Carson Tahoe Health, will share insights about the well-being of kids in our area.

The meeting is open to everyone and will be held on Tuesday, March 11, at noon in the Brewery Arts Center’s Grand Ballroom, located at 449 West King Street in Carson City.

McKay emphasizes the growing mental health crisis affecting not just adults, but children as well. “People across our nation, especially in Northern Nevada, are facing significant mental health challenges,” she says. “Our kids are particularly affected right now.”

In response to this crisis, Carson Tahoe Health is launching a new initiative called the Healing our Kids Crusade. This campaign aims to address juvenile mental health issues through community collaboration and action.

In her role at Carson Tahoe Health, McKay manages various programs, including community engagement and fundraising. She leads a team of 120 dedicated volunteers working towards improving health in the community.
