Currently, his Queens apartment may lack the grandeur of the mansion, but it has its perks. Rent includes hot water and electricity, and despite its humble facade, the 800-square-foot space has served as a cozy home for the couple. The building does have its quirks, like a shared laundry room and two closets, but it offers a glimpse into the life of a man rising to meet a big moment.
Living at Gracie Mansion would mean enjoying amenities that come with the title. The mansion features a full-time chef, an entertainment room with a grand fireplace, and an iconic ballroom where numerous cultural events have been held. However, the move would also come with increased security, something Mamdani’s current apartment lacks. His neighborhood in Astoria is known for its vibrant community of immigrants from places like Greece, Egypt, and Morocco, showcasing NYC’s melting pot of cultures.
