Mumbai:
Actor Raghu Ram recently met with the Maharashtra Cyber Department regarding a controversy involving podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, known as “BeerBiceps.” This situation arose from comments made on a YouTube show hosted by comedian Samay Raina. The episode of ‘India’s Got Latent’ has drawn significant backlash for its inappropriate content, particularly regarding discussions about parents and sex.
In the now-deleted episode, Allahbadia posed a shocking question: “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever?” This comment sparked outrage online. Following the backlash, Allahbadia apologized, attributing his remarks to a lapse in judgment.
Raghu Ram, a judge on the show, conveyed to the cyber cell that the abusive language used during the episode should have been edited out. He also expressed his regret over his own use of inappropriate language. Sources indicate that he felt he went along with the conversation and didn’t mean to offend anyone.
Raghu Ram was one of around 50 individuals questioned in this ongoing investigation. The Mumbai Police have already spoken to eight people, including creators like Apoorva Makhija and Ashish Chanchlani, as well as Allahbadia’s manager. Currently, no formal charges have been filed.
Samay Raina has also been summoned by both the Mumbai Police and the Cyber Department for questioning. He requested an extension to appear, citing his current stay in the United States.

Authorities from Mumbai and Assam went to Allahbadia’s apartment but found it locked. They wanted to question him about allegations of promoting inappropriate content online. Although he was asked to report to the Khar police station, he requested to give his statement from home instead. His request was denied, and after he missed the initial summons, police returned to his residence.
In total, several individuals, including Aliabadia and Raina, are involved in this investigation, which originated from a complaint lodged by a local resident in Assam.
