Family Shares Heartfelt Tribute to Woman Killed in Latest City Homicide: ‘She Was Our World’

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The family of Sajda Abdur-Rabb is heartbroken after her tragic death.

One of her sons expressed their pain, saying, “I hoped it wasn’t real. Our world shattered.” Abdur-Rabb was a devoted mother to nine children and had many grandchildren. Her family is now trying to find a way to heal.

She was found shot in the bathroom of their home. One of her sons was present during the incident and is struggling with the trauma of what he witnessed. “I am still grieving, still very hurt,” he shared.

According to reports, Abdur-Rabb’s boyfriend, Reginald Brooks, 53, is the suspected shooter. Following an argument, he allegedly made threats against her life. Now, he faces serious charges, including murder, which could lead to a long prison sentence. “He could get a thousand years, and it’s still not going to be enough,” her son said.

Despite this tragedy, Abdur-Rabb’s family is choosing to remember her legacy. Her son described her as “everything” to them. “She was our world, our protector, our best friend. Even in her last moments, she was about her family.”
