We’ve talked about this before, but this time there’s solid evidence that Take-Two and Rockstar Games might share some news about Grand Theft Auto 6 soon. What’s making this buzz more credible is that it comes from Sony, Take-Two’s marketing partner.
Rockstar watch reporter Videotech noticed something interesting. Many users have been receiving unusual marketing emails from Sony specifically about Grand Theft Auto 6. Some even got notifications through their PlayStation accounts.
Interestingly, these emails seem aimed at those who haven’t upgraded to a PlayStation 5 yet. One such email says, “Grand Theft Auto VI is on your wishlist. Get a PlayStation 5 today to be ready for when Grand Theft Auto VI launches on November 19, 2026.”
This partnership with Sony isn’t new. They’ve been promoting GTA VI since the second trailer released in May 2025, and it’s also clear from the “Captured on PS5” tag at the end of that trailer. Recently, Bloomberg even confirmed this marketing deal in an interview with Take-Two’s CEO, Strauss Zelnick.
GTA 6 recently appeared in Sony’s earnings report, sitting alongside big titles like Saros and Marvel’s Wolverine. It’s notable because it was the only third-party game presented.
Strauss Zelnick has been busy with interviews. In addition to Bloomberg, he spoke with Business Insider and Game File. There’s buzz around a possible feature in Game Informer too, mentioning a “[REDACTED]” game on its cover next week. This is intriguing because Game Informer was the first to showcase Grand Theft Auto 5 back in 2012.
All signs seem to point towards something happening. May 19 will mark six months until the official release of Grand Theft Auto VI, making it an ideal time for Take-Two and Sony to ramp up their advertising efforts. With the high price of the PlayStation 5 these days, it makes sense for Sony to give potential buyers a heads-up to start saving.
