Fans Rally with Prayers After Heartbreaking News from Country Music Star

On Saturday, Martina McBride shared some sad news with her fans on social media. Her father, Daryl Schiff, has passed away at the age of 86.

In her heartfelt message, McBride expressed her sorrow, saying, “I really don’t have the right words. My dad passed away Tuesday night. Our hearts are broken. He had an amazing life.” She remembered him as a loving family farmer and the leader of their family band, The Schiffters. “He taught me so much about music, about life, about how to treat others,” she wrote.

McBride cherished their nightly phone calls, especially after her mother passed away five years ago. “We talked every single night and sometimes during the day. Over 1,800 conversations that I am so grateful I had,” she shared. She even recorded some of their talks, calling his stories priceless.

Her father lived a full life, staying active and enjoying his routines like visiting the local co-op for coffee. “We shared a love of cooking and gardening, often sending each other recipes and updates about our gardens,” she recalled. He was an integral part of the Sharon community and was fondly remembered for his musical contributions and warm presence.

McBride described him as having “the kindest blue eyes and a great laugh.” She reflected, “So much of who I am came from him. There is so much more I could write, and probably will. Thank you for keeping us in your prayers during this time.”

Fans and friends quickly rallied around her with messages of support. Many shared comforting words and memories, expressing their condolences and love during this difficult time.
