Albany Rodriguez, a local worker, described the chaotic scene. She said, “I felt the tear gas hit my eyes and nose. It was awful.” Many echoed her sentiments, expressing disbelief that such forceful tactics were employed in a public space, especially near a school.

Chicago’s Mayor Brandon Johnson expressed his outrage through social media. He condemned the agents’ actions and emphasized that such tactics were unacceptable in the city. Legal expert Irv Miller advised that a police report should be filed. He noted that if the agent had acted out of fear, there could be some justification, but otherwise, it could lead to possible criminal charges. “You can’t just hurl tear gas without a legitimate reason,” Miller explained.
