Ferrari has introduced a new electric vehicle, the Luce, priced at $640,000. The design diverges significantly from the brand’s traditional style, resembling other electric four-door sedans rather than the iconic sports cars typically associated with Ferrari.
The interior features a button-free layout with bright colors and screens, prompting comparisons to a digital device seen in the upcoming Toy Story film. Critics have remarked that the design lacks the elegance expected of Ferrari vehicles.
Following its debut on the company’s USA Instagram account, the Luce received over 1,500 comments, none of which were positive. Many comments expressed disappointment, with several indicating that Enzo Ferrari, the company’s founder, would disapprove of this direction. The reactions ranged from humor to outright insults, and concerns were voiced from shareholders.
The day after the Luce’s reveal, Ferrari’s stock price fell by 8 percent in Milan and 5 percent in New York. A prominent Ferrari collector, who has spent over $10 million on the brand, described the vehicle as “the worst” and expressed hope of not having to purchase one.
