The 2026 FIFA World Cup Final is set to feature an exciting halftime show, similar to those seen at events like the Super Bowl. This is a first for the FIFA World Cup!

FIFA’s president, Gianni Infantino, announced this news on Instagram. He mentioned that the show would take place in New York/New Jersey alongside Global Citizen. Infantino said, “This will be a historic moment for the FIFA World Cup and a show befitting the biggest sporting event in the world.”
He also shared plans for other celebrations around the final weekend. FIFA will host events in Times Square during the final weekend, coinciding with both the bronze medal match and the World Cup final. Infantino highlighted, “These matches will feature some of the best players in the world. What better place to celebrate than in historic Times Square?”
Infantino extended his gratitude to Hugh Evans, CEO of Global Citizen, and Chris Martin and Phil Harvey from Coldplay, who will help finalize the lineup of artists for the halftime show and Times Square events.
The tournament will kick off on June 11, 2026, across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. However, the U.S. will take the lead as the exclusive host starting from the quarterfinals. The final is scheduled for July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, while the third-place match will happen a day earlier at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.
