First Bank recently wrapped up its annual fundraising campaign for the Harry Chapin Food Bank, raising an impressive $38,685. This amount translates to about 77,370 meals for families, children, and seniors in Southwest Florida.
Branches in Clewiston, LaBelle, East Fort Myers, Moore Haven, Belle Glade, and Immokalee came together, rallying their teams and communities to raise $12,895. The Belle Glade location stood out, contributing a significant $8,200. To amplify this effort, First Bank matched donations at double the rate, adding another $25,790.
Richard LeBer, president and CEO of Harry Chapin Food Bank, expressed immense gratitude, stating, “This generous contribution will deeply impact thousands of our neighbors facing food insecurity.” He emphasized the importance of community partnerships and their role in fighting hunger.

The funds will support vital programs at the Harry Chapin Food Bank, including mobile pantries, the Care and Share Senior Feeding Program, and the distribution of fresh produce and meats to over a quarter-million people each year.
