First Quality Donates .25M to Geisinger Health Foundation: A Transformative Gift for Community Health

DANVILLE — The Geisinger Health Foundation has received a significant donation of $1.25 million from the Better Together Fund, established by First Quality Enterprises, LLC. This commitment will be fulfilled over five years to support healthcare initiatives at Geisinger Lewistown Hospital (GLH) and Geisinger Jersey Shore Hospital (GJSH).

This funding aims to improve healthcare for families in Mifflin and Clinton counties. It will enhance care delivery and increase access to quality services at both hospitals, ensuring that local residents can get the medical attention they need without traveling far.

“This generous gift will profoundly impact our communities,” said Tammy Anderer, the chief administrative officer at both hospitals. “With First Quality’s support, we can focus on critical improvements to healthcare in our area, adapting to the evolving needs of our patients.”

Jim Dodge, chief financial officer at First Quality, emphasized their commitment to community health. “Geisinger plays an essential role in improving healthcare in the region, and we’re proud to support their work through our Better Together Fund,” he stated.

First Quality Enterprises has a rich history, having started over 35 years ago as a small family-owned business in McElhattan, Pennsylvania. Today, it employs more than 5,000 people across North America, supplying personal care and household products while also providing flexible packaging solutions.

This partnership highlights a growing trend in the healthcare sector: collaborations between local businesses and health organizations to better support community health needs. In recent years, investments like these have been shown to improve patient outcomes and enhance service availability in underserved areas. According to a 2022 report by the National Rural Health Association, rural healthcare facilities have seen improvements in patient satisfaction when supported by local funding initiatives.

This donation is not just a financial boost; it showcases a community coming together to elevate healthcare for all. With continued efforts and initiatives, we can hope to see lasting positive changes in local health systems.
