Five people were shot at a pedestrian mall in Iowa City, near the University of Iowa, early Sunday. Among the injured are three university students, according to officials.
The police responded to a large fight around 1:46 a.m. Officers arrived to find multiple gunshots. At least one victim is in critical condition, while the others are stable and recovering in the hospital.
University President Barb Wilson expressed concern for the students involved and emphasized the need for community support during this challenging time.
So far, no arrests have been made. The police are still investigating and are looking for five people of interest. They have asked anyone with information to come forward.
