Florida State University Noles Gear Up for Exciting Seminole Intercollegiate This Sunday!

The Florida State men’s golf team is gearing up for the Seminole Intercollegiate from March 15-17. This year, 20 other teams will join the fun as the tournament returns to Seminole Legacy Golf Club after taking a break last year.

This marks the 49th annual event, first held in 1970. FSU had a strong showing in recent years, taking first place in 2023 and 2025, and finishing second in 2024. Luke Clanton led the team last season, finishing 15-under par with a total score of 195. Wilmer Edero wasn’t far behind, securing third place at 6-under par.

In early March, Tyler Weaver shined at the Cabo Collegiate, finishing 11th out of 80 players with a score of 3-under par. Patrick McCann also held his ground with an even-par 213.

This Sunday, the lineup includes Weaver, Edero, Jack Bigham, Jack Whaley, and Carson Brewer. Drew Jones will compete as an individual.

The first round kicks off at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, with the same start time for Monday and Tuesday.

The tournament will feature teams like Florida State, Arkansas State, Boston College, and Penn State, among others.

The atmosphere at past tournaments has been electric, with fans cheering on their teams. Interestingly, golf participation has been on the rise globally. According to a recent report by the National Golf Foundation, golf saw a 25% increase in new players in 2021. This interest bodes well for events like the Seminole Intercollegiate and for the sport in general.
